Bruno Vlahek is a renowned Croatian pianist and composer, born on February 11, 1986, in Zagreb. He began his musical education at the age of nine and went on to graduate from the Zagreb Academy of Music as one of its youngest students. Vlahek furthered his studies at prestigious institutions like the Conservatoire de Lausanne and the Hochschule für Musik Köln, and later with Dmitri Bashkirov at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. His piano playing is celebrated for its "fantastic virtuosity" and "depth of musical thought," earning him comparisons to a "New Pogorelich." Vlahek regularly performs as a soloist with orchestras across the globe and has won numerous international competitions, including the "Ricard Viñes" and "Alexander Scriabin" competitions.
As a composer, Bruno Vlahek has created over 60 works that have been performed on five continents. His compositions span various genres and have been recognized with awards such as the Porin for best classical composition in 2018 and the Stjepan Šulek Award in 2019.
