Karim Ouellet was a Canadian singer-songwriter known for his infectious blend of pop, folk, soul, and African rhythms. Born in Senegal and raised in Quebec City, Karim brought a unique multicultural flavor to his music that resonated with fans across Canada and beyond. He broke onto the scene with his 2011 debut album "Plume," but it was his 2012 sophomore album, "Fox," that really put him on the map. The album earned critical acclaim and won the Juno Award for Francophone Album of the Year in 2014, thanks in part to standout tracks like “L’amour.”
Karim’s thoughtful lyrics, smooth vocals, and genre-defying sound made him a beloved figure in the Francophone music world. Beyond his solo work, he was also associated with the collective Movèzerbe and collaborated with several artists in the Quebec music scene. His creative spirit and warm presence left a lasting impact before his untimely passing in 2022 at the age of 37.
