The Rubens

The Rubens are an Australian indie rock band hailing from Menangle, New South Wales, formed in 2011. Composed of three Margin brothers—Sam (lead vocals/guitar), Elliott (keyboards, vocals), and Zaac (lead guitar)—alongside friends Scott Baldwin (drums) and William Zeglis (bass guitar), the band broke into the music scene with their self-titled debut album in 2012, which earned them not only critical acclaim but also a devoted fan base. Known for their soulful melodies blended with gritty rock elements, The Rubens have consistently delivered chart-topping hits and compelling albums, showcasing their evolution and depth as musicians.

The Rubens' discography reveals a trajectory of persistent growth and exploration. With albums like "Hoops" (2015) and "LO LA RU" (2018), the band solidified their signature sound, marrying emotive lyricism with infectious rhythms. Their more recent projects, such as "0202" (2021), represent a band unafraid to experiment while remaining true to their core aesthetic. Standout tracks like "Live In Life," which received extensive airplay, and its subsequent remixes, along with the introspective single "Time Of My Life," exemplify their capacity to connect with listeners through both party-ready anthems and thoughtful ballads. The Rubens also showcased their versatility with "MTV Unplugged (Live in Melbourne, 2019)," delivering stripped-back renditions of their hits that illuminate the band’s raw talent and musical synergy.
