Dàimh

Dàimh, pronounced "dive," is a powerhouse of Gaelic and Highland music that has been captivating audiences around the world with their potent blend of traditional sounds and contemporary flair. Formed in the West Highlands of Scotland, the band takes its name from the Gaelic word for "kinship," a theme that resonates through their music and their connection with each other and their audience. Dàimh has been dedicated to reviving and reinvigorating the traditional tunes of their Gaelic heritage, thereby forging an important link between the musical traditions of Scotland and Nova Scotia, where Gaelic culture also thrives.

Throughout their career, Dàimh has released a series of acclaimed albums, with "SULA" being their most recent musical offering. Prior to this, they entranced listeners with releases such as "The Rough Bounds"—an album celebrating their 20th anniversary and deep connection to the Gaelic communities of Lochaber, Ardnamurchan, and the Isle of Skye—and "The Hebridean Sessions," which was a heartfelt homage to traditional Hebridean songs. Their discography also includes "Tuneship," "Diversions," "Crossing Point," "The Pirates of Puirt," and "Moidart to Mabou," each album showcasing their mastery of Gaelic music and the culture's rich storytelling tradition. By seamlessly blending fiddles, bagpipes, and Gaelic vocals, Dàimh has not only preserved the music of their ancestors but also infused it with a dynamic and modern spirit that continues to win the hearts of new generations.
