Smash Mouth

Smash Mouth is an American rock band from San Jose, California, formed in 1994. The band's classic lineup consisted of lead vocalist Steve Harwell, guitarist Greg Camp, bassist Paul De Lisle, and drummer Kevin Coleman (who was later replaced by Michael Urbano, among others). The band rose to fame in the late 1990s with their unique blend of garage band-style rock with a sunny disposition and their decidedly Californian vibe. Smash Mouth's sound was a mix of neo-ska, pop rock, and alternative influences, a defining characteristic that helped them stand out during their peak.

The band achieved massive success with the release of their 1999 hit song "All Star," which became a cultural phenomenon, finding a prominent place in film, media, and sporting events. Smash Mouth's fame was further solidified with their infectious covers of "I'm a Believer" (originally by The Monkees) for the film "Shrek" and "Why Can't We Be Friends" (originally by War). Over the years, they have continued to stay active in the music scene, experimenting with new sounds and catering to the changing tastes of their audience through remixes of their classics and fresh tunes. Releases such as "MISSILE TOES" and "Unity" demonstrated the band's continued commitment to evolving their sound while attempting to connect with both long-time fans and new generations. Despite lineup changes and various challenges, Smash Mouth has remained a nostalgic fixture within the music industry, celebrated for its spirited anthems and enduring presence.
