Sarith and Surith

Sarith and Surith are a dynamic twin duo from Sri Lanka, born on December 11, 2000, in Matara. They come from an arts-conscious family and began their musical journey at a young age, showcasing their talents on platforms like Sirasa TV's "Poddanta Puluwan," where they won first place. Sarith is a skilled guitarist and violinist, while Surith excels in percussion instruments like the tabla, congo, or bongo. They have gained popularity in the indie pop scene with their distinctive sound, which often blends different cultures and languages. Their music career took off in 2016 with performances at local events and radio shows, eventually leading them to form the band NEWS with other talented musicians.

Sarith and Surith have released several well-received songs, including "Mayawee," "Adimthra Volume 01," "Sayuru Theren Eha," and "Apata Raka Denna," showcasing their ability to fuse pop with other genres like electronic and hip-hop.
