Hmlisto

Hmlisto is a family inter-genre duo from the Vtáčnik mountain range in Slovakia. The duo consists of Veronika and her son Ján, who blend traditional folk music from the Western Carpathians with modern elements of world music, folk, and post-rock. Their sound uniquely combines traditional instruments like shepherd pipes and folk violin with electric guitar and mandola. Hmlisto has released several albums, including **Na druhom brehu** (On the other side) in 2018, **Ozveny lazov** (Echoes of Mountain Solitudes) in 2020, and **Československá** in 2022. The latter won an award at the Radio_Head Awards in 2022. They perform at both local and international music festivals and clubs. Recent releases include **Valika**, **Blýskavica**, and **Československá**.
