Rev. J. Mikhael Smith and the Brimstone Miracle is a musical project led by Josh Smith, also known as the frontman of the Knoxville, TN-based band Handsome and the Humbles. Under this moniker, Smith explores themes of faith and mortality through Americana storytelling. His EP "Dogwood Winter" features a blend of straightforward Americana with a touch of American Gothic lyrics, showcasing his ability to tackle heavy topics in a personal and introspective manner. The project includes collaborations with regular bandmates Tyler Huff, Laurel Brisson, Zack Miles, Miles' fiancé Madison Brown, and fiddler Evie Andrus, creating a rich musical tapestry with rolling banjo and soaring fiddle accompaniments.
