The Sunshine Fix

The Sunshine Fix is an indie rock band mostly known for being a side project of singer-songwriter Bill Doss, a founding member of the influential and critically acclaimed psychedelic group The Olivia Tremor Control, part of the Elephant Six Collective. Doss created The Sunshine Fix as a platform for his personal musical explorations, and it soon evolved into a full-fledged project. The band's sound is characterized by a blend of psychedelic pop, rich harmonies, and lo-fi experimentalism that harks back to the whimsical and upbeat melodies of the 1960s.

Their debut album "Age of the Sun" (2001) is a brightly colored tapestry of pop songs that showcase Doss's talent for crafting infectious melodies with an experimental edge. The record was well-received and helped establish The Sunshine Fix as a notable entity separate from The Olivia Tremor Control. This was followed by "Green Imagination" in 2004, which continued to showcase Doss's gift for sunny, psychedelic-infused pop while simultaneously incorporating more diverse instrumentation and production techniques. In between album releases, the band pushed "The Future History of a Sunshine Fix"—a collection ostensibly giving fans a deeper look into the band's trajectory and Doss's evolving songwriting. Tragically, Bill Doss passed away in 2012, and The Sunshine Fix remains a testament to his creative spirit and melodic genius within the indie music landscape.
