Emmanuel Christien

Emmanuel Christien is a French violist who has established himself as one of the leading violists of his generation. Born in 1974, Christien began playing the viola at the age of 6. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich.

Christien has performed as a soloist with major orchestras around the world, including the Orchestre de Paris, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. He is also a dedicated chamber musician and has collaborated with some of the world's most renowned musicians, including Martha Argerich, Gidon Kremer, and Yo-Yo Ma. Christien is known for his passionate and expressive playing, as well as his technical virtuosity. He has recorded numerous albums, including the highly acclaimed "Mélodies" and "La Cuisine à l'alto."
