The Halluci Nation

The Halluci Nation, formerly known as A Tribe Called Red, is an influential Indigenous music group originally from Canada, which has been at the forefront of the electric pow wow movement – a fusion of traditional Indigenous sounds and modern electronic music. The group was formed in 2007 by DJs Ian "DJ NDN" Campeau, Tim "2oolman" Hill, and Ehren "Bear Witness" Thomas. Although DJ NDN retired from the group in 2017, the remaining members have continued to push the boundaries of contemporary music, incorporating a wide range of genres such as hip hop, reggae, moombahton, and dubstep into their work.

The Halluci Nation is renowned for their politically charged and culturally rich music, which aims to raise awareness of Indigenous issues while also celebrating Indigenous culture and identity. Their transformation into The Halluci Nation signals a step forward in their evolution, emphasizing a message of unity and resistance against colonial oppression. Their recent releases like "Land Back," which is a collaboration with Boogey The Beat and Northern Voice, and "Tanokumbia" featuring El Dusty and Black Bear, exhibit their continued commitment to addressing social issues and building bridges across communities through powerful beats and poignant lyrics. "Ba Na Na," featuring Odario, Haviah Mighty, and Chippewa Travellers, showcases their ability to create infectious rhythms that keep the spirit of collaboration and celebration at the forefront of their musical journey.
