Carsten Bo Eriksen, also known as My Beautiful Decay 1973 (MBD73), is a Danish composer and artist born on October 2, 1973, in Copenhagen. He is renowned for his eclectic style, which blends elements of neo-classical, post-rock, American minimalism, ambient, and electronic music. Eriksen's musical education includes studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen under professors Ib Nørholm, Ivar Frounberg, and Hans Abrahamsen, as well as at Berklee College of Music in Massachusetts. Additionally, he has explored Balinese gamelan music in Ubud, Bali. His work has been influenced by a meeting with composer Arvo Pärt in 2000. Eriksen has been active in various musical ensembles and has performed extensively in Europe and the US.
