Company of Wolves is a hard rock band that emerged from the New York music scene in 1989, featuring Kyf Brewer on vocals, Steve Conte on guitar, John Conte on bass, and Frankie LaRocka on drums. They quickly made a name for themselves with their self-titled debut album released in 1990 under Mercury/Polygram, which produced several AOR charting singles such as "Call of the Wild," "The Distance," and "Hangin' By a Thread." The band toured extensively across the US, sharing stages with acts like Richard Marx and L.A. Guns, and gained exposure through MTV videos for their singles.
Despite selling over 100,000 copies of their debut with minimal label support, the band went out of print by 1993 and members pursued solo projects. In response to fan demand, they released the demo collection "Shakers & Tamborines" in 1998 and followed up with "Steryl Spycase" in 2001, showing their evolution beyond the typical hair metal label. Company of Wolves is remembered as a solid rock act of their era, balancing melodic hooks with hard rock grit, and they reunited for a show in 2017, continuing to celebrate their legacy.
