Lauma Skride

Lauma Skride is a highly accomplished Latvian pianist known for her expressive performances and collaborations with top classical musicians. Born into a musical family in Riga, she studied at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music and later at the Hamburg Conservatory. Lauma has built a distinguished career both as a soloist and a chamber musician, often performing with her sister, violinist Baiba Skride, as well as in various ensemble settings.

Lauma is particularly admired for her sensitive interpretations of Romantic and 20th-century repertoire, and her work spans everything from Schubert and Shostakovich to modern composers.
