Chang Ya Tung

Chang Ya Tung is a notable figure in Chinese music, best known as a record producer and musician who emerged from Beijing's vibrant music scene in the 1990s. Born on March 11, 1969, in Shanxi, China, he began learning the cello at age eight and started composing music by the time he was thirteen. His debut album, titled *Ya Tung*, was released in 1998 and helped establish his presence as an artist in his own right. Beyond his solo work, Chang Ya Tung has earned acclaim as a producer, working with a range of prominent Chinese rock and pop artists such as Faye Wong, Dou Wei, Xu Wei, and Wang Feng, among others. His production work has been influential in shaping modern Chinese music, and he is often referred to as "the golden producer" for his significant contributions to the industry.

In addition to producing, he played a key role in revitalizing the Chinese music label Taihe Rye Music by turning it independent from Warner Music Group. Later on, he founded his own company, "Dong Yue," to further his musical projects and production ventures. His blend of classical music training and contemporary rock and pop sensibilities has made him a respected and versatile figure in the Chinese music scene. Some of his recent releases include *自然之声* and *潛流*, showcasing his continuing creative output.
