King Hobo

King Hobo is a powerhouse collaboration that brings together the talents of renowned musicians from different corners of the rock and blues scene. The band was formed in the late 2000s when Per Wiberg, known for his keyboard work with Opeth and Spiritual Beggars, teamed up with Thomas Juneor Andersson from Kamchatka on guitar and vocals, along with drummer Jean-Paul Gaster from the mighty Clutch. The chemistry between the trio was immediate, leading to the creation of a sound that blends heavy blues, rock, and funk with an impressively fluid and improvisational approach.

Their self-titled debut album, "King Hobo," set the stage for an eclectic and groove-laden journey, showcasing the band’s ability to move seamlessly between genres. With subsequent releases like "Mauga," King Hobo continued to solidify their reputation as a group not bound by strict genre labels. Songs like "Dragon's Tail," "Listen Here," and "Hobo Ride" further display their evolution, painting a picture of a band that's comfortable in their musical exploration and confident in their dynamic, earthy sound. Despite the members' commitments to other successful projects, King Hobob remains a compelling outlet for their collective creative energies, bringing together a small but dedicated fan base drawn to their unique sonic blend and jam-infused live performances.
