Chromeo

Chromeo, the brainchild of Montreal natives David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel, has been electrifying the music scene with their distinctive brand of electro-funk since the early 2000s. The duo, who met in high school, have since crafted a musical identity that borrows from funk, disco, and R&B, packaged in a sleek, modern electronic sound. Their signature style is marked by funky guitar riffs, talk box, and synth-driven melodies that pay homage to the music of the 70s and 80s while infusing it with contemporary pop sensibilities.

Throughout their career, Chromeo has asserted their place in the music world with a series of infectious releases that showcase their ability to bridge the gap between retro influences and the sound of the dance floor. The duo's energetic performances and humorous, self-aware approach to their image and lyrics have garnered them a dedicated fan base. Their most recent efforts, which include tracks like "Personal Effects," "Discoproof," "(I Don't Need A) New Girl," a collaboration with La Roux on "Replacements," and the funky jam "CLUSTERFUNK," demonstrate that Chromeo continues to innovate within their genre, keeping their sound fresh and fans on their toes with their 2023 Remix Pack and other new material.
