**Sex-O-Rama** is the ultimate purveyors of **Porn Funk**, that cheeky, wah-wah-drenched sound straight out of '70s adult films, but cranked up with modern attitude. It all kicked off in the late '80s when Haywood Jablomi (bass) and Thomas "Fingers" Chelsea (guitar) hooked up on a San Fernando Valley porn set to score some steamy scenes, soon adding keyboardist Sid Getzoff and drummer Richard "Dick" Long to form The Sex-O-Rama Band—later shortened to just Sex-O-Rama in 2004. They started with covers that got them sued, dropped a killer original album in '98 featuring "Love Muscle," survived bad reviews (Dick wasn't shy about calling out critics), lost Dick in '03, grabbed new drummer Ivan Ardon, and kept grooving with gems like *SEX-O-RAMA II: Classic Adult Film Music*, *SEX-O-RAMA 3: Menáge á Troís*, and fresh bangers such as *Booty Call*, *Invaders from the Pleasure Planet*, and *Mother Funker*.
Led by studio wizard **Carvin Knowles** and co-producer Adam Pike, these shadowy session pros have been secretly slinging funky film scores for decades, poking fun at the music biz, religious right, and everything in between with a smart-ass grin—born from Knowles' classical roots rebellion and a label exec's wild idea. Tracks like "Pizza Man" even snag pornstar cameos, and they've soundtracked flicks right up to 2023's *Maybe I Do*, proving their dirty-minded funk is timeless toe-tappers.
