Roomful Of Blues

Roomful of Blues is an American blues and swing revival big band based out of Rhode Island. Since their formation in 1967, the group has been known for their vibrant blend of swing, rock and roll, jazz, and R&B, maintaining a legacy that has influenced the blues genre for over five decades. Founded by pianist Al Copley and guitarist Duke Robillard, the band has seen a revolving lineup of highly talented musicians, with more than 50 members having passed through the ranks over the years. Despite changes in personnel, Roomful of Blues has consistently delivered electrifying performances and a robust discography that captures the spirit of traditional blues while infusing it with a contemporary energy.

The ensemble has not only been recognized for their outstanding live shows—captured in releases such as "45 Live," which celebrates their 45th anniversary with dynamic performance recordings—but also for their studio works that showcase their dedication to the craft. Albums like "In A Roomful Of Blues" and "The Blues'll Make You Happy, Too" illustrate their profound understanding of blues traditions combined with an ability to make those traditions sound fresh and relevant. Over the years, Roomful of Blues has been nominated for five Grammy Awards and has won multiple Blues Music Awards, solidifying their place as luminaries in the blues community and as a band that continues to bring rooms full of fans to their feet with their infectious grooves and soulful melodies.
