John Foxx & The Maths

John Foxx & The Maths is a British electronic music project formed by John Foxx, the original frontman of Ultravox, in collaboration with producer and synthesist Benge (Ben Edwards). The group debuted in 2011 with the critically acclaimed album Interplay, which marked a return to Foxx's cold, analog synth roots while blending vintage electronics with modern production. Their sound is a compelling mix of minimal synth, techno, and experimental pop—dark, atmospheric, and futuristic.

Since then, John Foxx & The Maths have released several albums including The Shape of Things, Evidence, and Howl, continually evolving their sound while maintaining a strong visual and thematic identity. The project frequently explores themes of technology, identity, and urban dystopia, and has been celebrated for both its live performances and studio innovations. Their collaborative spirit extends to working with artists such as Mira Aroyo of Ladytron and Gazelle Twin.
