BBC Philharmonic Orchestra
The BBC Philharmonic Orchestra is a British orchestra based in Manchester, England. Founded in 1934 as the BBC Northern Orchestra, it was renamed in 1982. The orchestra performs regularly at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and broadcasts concerts on BBC Radio 3. Its repertoire includes a wide range of classical music, from Baroque to contemporary. The orchestra has made numerous recordings and has toured extensively throughout the world.
