Joanie Madden

Joanie Madden is an acclaimed Irish-American flute and whistle player, best known as the leader and founding member of Cherish the Ladies, one of the most celebrated all-female Irish traditional music groups. Born in the Bronx, New York, to Irish immigrant parents, Madden developed a deep love for traditional Irish music from an early age. Her mastery of the tin whistle and flute has earned her widespread recognition, including prestigious awards such as the National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
