Sam Mangwana is a Congolese singer, songwriter, and guitarist who has been a major figure in African music for over five decades. Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, in 1945, Mangwana began his career in the early 1960s as a member of the band OK Jazz. He later went on to form his own band, African Fiesta, and has released numerous albums over the years. Mangwana's music is a blend of traditional Congolese rhythms and modern pop influences, and he is known for his soulful vocals and passionate lyrics. He has toured extensively throughout Africa and Europe, and has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Manu Dibango, Youssou N'Dour, and Salif Keita.
