Jürg Dähler is a highly acclaimed viola and violin player born in Zurich, Switzerland. He completed his studies at the Music Academy in Zurich with top honors and went on to further his training with renowned musicians such as Sándor Végh, Pinchas Zukerman, Kim Kashkashian, and Fjodor Drushinin. Throughout his career, Dähler has made a significant impact not just as a soloist and chamber musician but also as a pedagogue and artistic leader, performing across the world and premiering numerous compositions written specifically for him by major contemporary composers.
Dähler’s artistic reach spans classical, contemporary, and even jazz music, with performances at major festivals and venues throughout Europe, the USA, South America, and Australia. He regularly plays on fine antique instruments, including those crafted by Guarneri Del Gesù and Antonio Stradivari, and is recognized as an expert in string instruments and their history.
