Blaakyum

Blaakyum is a Lebanese heavy metal band known for their potent blend of thrash metal with elements of groove and traditional Middle Eastern music. Formed in the midst of political turmoil and civil strife in Beirut in 1995, Blaakyum drew from the energy and defiance around them to create music that was not only sonically powerful but also rich with cultural and political commentary. The band's lineup has seen changes over the years but has been anchored by the steadfast vision of lead vocalist and guitarist Bassem Deaibess, who has guided the band since its inception.

Their 2016 album "Line of Fear" showcased the band’s ability to meld razor-sharp riffs with the melodic undertones of their heritage, earning them accolades in the international metal community. Tracks such as "Riot Against Riot," offer a relentless critique of the sectarian violence that has plagued their homeland, while "Lord of the Night" serves as a testament to the band's storytelling prowess, enveloping listeners in a tale of darkness and resilience. Blaakyum's artistic output remains a vibrant and uncompromising reflection of their surroundings, delivering a message as potent as their music, cementing their status as pioneers of metal in the Middle East.
