Bent Fabricius-Bjerre was a celebrated Danish composer and pianist known for his extensive work in film and television music. Born in 1924, he built a remarkable career that spanned several decades, composing iconic scores for Danish film and TV classics such as "Matador," "Olsen-banden," and "Ballade på Christianshavn." His flair for creating catchy, memorable melodies helped define the soundscape of Danish popular culture in the 20th century.
Internationally, he's perhaps best known under the name Bent Fabric—an alias under which he released the jazzy instrumental hit "Alley Cat" in 1961, which won a Grammy and became a chart-topping success around the world.
