Marcos Portugal
Marcos Portugal, a Portuguese composer, was born in Lisbon in 1762. He studied music at the Lisbon Conservatory and later became the music director of the Patriarchal Cathedral. Portugal is best known for his sacred music, which includes masses, motets, and hymns. His music is characterized by its beautiful melodies and rich harmonies. Portugal died in Rio de Janeiro in 1830.
