Blaqk Audio

Blaqk Audio is an electropop duo hailing from California, consisting of Davey Havok and Jade Puget, both members of the acclaimed rock band AFI. The group represents a creative outlet where the duo can explore their affinity for the electronic and synth-pop genres, distinct from AFI's alternative rock and hardcore punk roots. Formed in 2001, Blaqk Audio's music is characterized by its synth-heavy arrangements, dark wave-influenced melodies, and Havok's distinctively emotive vocals.

Blaqk Audio made their full-length debut with "CexCells" in 2007, which was warmly received by fans for its dance-inducing tracks and polished production. Over the years, they have continued to evolve and produce music that resonates with a growing fanbase, exemplified in releases like "Bright Black Heaven" and "Material." Their more recent projects, such as "Only Things We Love" and the two-part "Beneath the Black Palms" released in 2020, showcase a matured sound that seamlessly blends the dark, romantic lyricism of their early work with contemporary electronic soundscapes. Singles like "The Viles" and their cover of "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" maintain the energetic and synth-centric sound that has come to define Blaqk Audio’s intriguing sonic identity.
