Casey Robards is a talented pianist, conductor, and vocal coach known for her sensitive musicality and versatile collaborative skills. She has performed recitals across the United States, Europe, Central and South America, and Asia, covering a wide range of repertoire including art song, opera, musical theatre, spirituals, gospel, and chamber music. Casey made a notable Carnegie Hall debut with a unique program featuring Top 40 pop songs sung in the style of art song. She has also contributed to several recordings, including contemporary chamber music and works highlighting diverse composers. Casey is married to pianist Anthony Patterson, with whom she forms the Patterson Piano Duo.
A Korean adoptee, Casey is deeply committed to using music as a medium for growth, healing, and social justice. She currently serves on the faculty at the University of Illinois and has held previous positions at Indiana University, Oberlin Conservatory, and Central Michigan University. Additionally, she is heavily involved with the Bay View Music Festival as MainStage Opera Conductor and head of the Collaborative Piano program. Her career extends beyond performance to include coaching, teaching, and directing opera and vocal intensives. Casey also advocates for inclusive and collaborative music-making and supports initiatives that use music to create positive change in society.
