Mirabai Ceiba

Mirabai Ceiba is a duo formed by Angelika Baumbach from Mexico and Markus Sieber from Germany, who together create a musical blend that transcends the ordinary, merging elements of world, folk, and sacred music into a distinctive, harmonious sound that reflects their deeply spiritual approach to music-making. Named after the 16th-century mystic poet Mirabai and the Ceiba tree, which is sacred throughout the Americas, their collaboration began in 2004 and has blossomed into a rich partnership both on and off stage, as they are not only musical partners but life partners as well.

Their music is a celebration of love and spirit, weaving together the Spanish lyricism and the dreamy, plaintive qualities of European folk with the earthy grooves of South American sounds. The duo's melodies are often supported by a range of instruments such as harp, guitar, and piano, complemented with lyrics sung in Spanish, English, Sanskrit, and Gurmukhi, creating a multicultural tapestry that appeals to the universal yearning for connection and contemplation. With a dedicated following within the yoga and spiritual communities, Mirabai Ceiba's performances are more than concerts—they are invitations to enter a space of introspection and joy. Their discography features releases that include "Canto por México" and "Agua de Luna (Mose Rework)," showcasing their continuous evolution and dedication to producing music that aspires to heal and uplift the soul.
