**นิรนาม (Nirnam)** is a Thai music group that emerged during the late 1980s, primarily in the socially conscious or "เพื่อชีวิต" genre. The band was formed under the Nithitasan Promotions label and initially comprised members from other notable bands, including "เดอะ วอลล์" and "ฮิวมัส." Led by Kabit Uttayanasin, also known as Nid Nirnam, the group released their debut album "คนกินแดด" (People Under the Sun) in 1986. Over time, they gained significant popularity with songs like "รักเรือล่ม" (Lover of a Sunken Boat) and "ไอ้หรั่ง" (The Lizard). Nid Nirnam was influential in popularizing the use of traditional Thai music elements in contemporary songs, inspiring many artists to cover classic Thai songs.
The band's success led to a series of popular albums, including the "หยิบสิบ" (Pick Ten) series, which became a hallmark of their later career. Their music often reflects themes of social commentary and critique, aligning with their genre. Despite changes in the lineup over the years, Nid Nirnam remained a central figure, continuing to produce music that resonated with a wide audience.
