The Zutons

The Zutons are an English indie rock band from Liverpool, which emerged on the music scene in the early 2000s with their fusion of rock, jazz, and blues influences. Coming into the spotlight with their debut album "Who Killed The Zutons?" in 2004, they quickly carved out a niche for themselves with their distinctive saxophone-infused melodies and quirky lyrical storytelling. The album was not only well-received by the critics but also earned them a nomination for the Mercury Prize that year.

The band, consisting of Dave McCabe (lead vocals and guitar), Boyan Chowdhury (guitar), Russell Pritchard (bass), Sean Payne (drums), and Abi Harding (saxophone), followed up with their second album "Tired Of Hanging Around" in 2006, further cementing their status in the UK music scene. The Zutons' infectious single "Valerie" from this album gained even greater fame when covered by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse. Their third studio effort, "You Can Do Anything," released in 2008, showcased a more mature sound but ultimately became the last album released before their hiatus in 2009. Despite the break, The Zutons have played several reunion shows, keeping their zealous fanbase satisfied and their music legacy alive.
