Turnstile

Turnstile is an American hardcore punk band that erupted onto the scene with their ferocious sound and high-energy live performances. Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, the band was formed in 2010 by Brendan Yates (vocals), Franz Lyons (bass/vocals), Brady Ebert (guitars), Pat McCrory (guitars), and Daniel Fang (drums). They quickly earned a reputation within the hardcore community for their explosive musical fusion that incorporates elements of punk, hardcore, and even psychedelic grooves. Their early work, reflected in EPs like "Pressure to Succeed" (2011) and "Step to Rhythm" (2013), captures the raw essence of their punk roots, setting a solid foundation for their later work.

Over the years, Turnstile has evolved their style, integrating more melody and rhythm into their hardcore blueprint, crafting an accessible yet undiluted punk ethos that has garnered a wider audience. Their albums, including "Nonstop Feeling" (2015) and "Time & Space" (2018), showcase this progression with tighter production and more nuanced songwriting while retaining the band’s signature intensity. The release of "GLOW ON" in 2021, featuring singles such as "MYSTERY" and "BLACKOUT," marked a significant milestone for Turnstile as they achieved critical acclaim and increased mainstream attention. The record's dynamic range, from the anthemic "ALIEN LOVE CALL" to the visceral "FLY AGAIN," illustrates the band's ability to push the boundaries of the hardcore genre while remaining true to its core values. Turnstile's constant innovation and energetic live shows have solidified their standing as a formidable force in the contemporary music landscape.
