Arched Fire is a Finnish metal band that originated in the late 1980s in Kemijärvi, Finland. The band was initially formed by teenagers Ari Väntänen (guitar), Aslak Purojärvi (drums), and Mika Rytilahti (bass), with Janne Särkelä joining shortly after on lead guitar. During their early days, they were heavily influenced by American and Finnish speed/thrash metal bands, including the "Big 4" and Stone, a notable Finnish metal band. The band disbanded in 1990 but reunited years later, with Kristian Herkman joining as vocalist. Their music reflects a blend of energetic metal styles with a focus on strong songwriting and powerful performances.
In recent years, Arched Fire has released several tracks, including "Northbound Train," "Trust Betrayal," "Pestilence," "Fear," and "Remote Control," showcasing their continued passion for metal music. Despite their early start and hiatus, the band has maintained a strong commitment to their craft, blending nostalgia with contemporary metal elements. Their reunion has allowed them to revisit and rework their earlier material, bringing a fresh perspective to their music while staying true to their metal roots.
