His early work included the 2016 EP *Six Paths* and notable singles like "Thiago Silva" with AJ Tracey. The same year, Canadian rapper Drake remixed Dave's track "Wanna Know," which helped him gain international exposure. Dave's political commentary in songs such as "Question Time," which criticized the British government, won him the 2018 Ivor Novello Award for Best Contemporary Song. His single "Funky Friday" featuring Fredo became his first UK number-one hit and received triple platinum certification.
Dave’s debut album *Psychodrama* (2019) was critically acclaimed, debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart and winning the Mercury Prize as well as the Brit Award for Album of the Year. He also ventured into acting with a role in Netflix's *Top Boy*. His follow-up album, *We're All Alone in This Together* (2021), continued his success, becoming his second UK number-one album. Dave has solidified his status as one of the UK’s leading rap artists with chart-topping singles like "Starlight" and "Sprinter" (with Central Cee) in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
