Mehmet Erenler

Mehmet Erenler is a Turkish musician known for his skillful playing of the bağlama, also referred to as the saz. Born on January 26, 1946, in Ankara, Turkey, his hometown is the Ayaş District of Ankara province. He began learning the baglama at the age of eight and first appeared on stage around the age of thirteen. Erenler's musical journey includes performing in various casinos in the early 1960s and working at Ankara Radio after passing an audition for Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) in 1966. He also lectured at the Istanbul State Conservatory, showcasing his depth and commitment to traditional Turkish music.

Erenler's music often reflects the rich cultural heritage of Anatolia, and he has captured audiences worldwide with his mesmerizing performances. His discography includes albums such as "Altın Türküler" series, which highlight his contributions to keeping traditional Turkish folk music alive.
