Alexey Kuznetsov is a renowned Russian jazz guitarist, composer, and music educator born on September 6, 1941, in Chelyabinsk. He graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical University in 1962 with a degree in music performance. Kuznetsov has made a significant impact on the international jazz scene, performing throughout Russia, India, and Eastern Europe as both a soloist and ensemble member at major music festivals and concert venues.
In the 1990s, Kuznetsov toured regularly as part of a trio with saxophonist Georgy Garanian and pianist Daniil Kramer. He also formed and led the jazz quartet Jazz-Accord, which featured accordion player Vladimir Danilin, pianist Lev Kushnir, and double bassist Anatoly Sobolev. Kuznetsov is the author of "Iz praktiki dzhazovogo gitarista" (From the practice of a jazz guitarist), an instructional book for aspiring jazz guitarists published in 1993.
