Ganafoul

Ganafoul is a French heavy metal band from Givors, near Lyon, formed in 1974. Initially composed of five members, the band later became a trio with Jack Bon on guitars and vocals, Jean-Yves Astier on bass and vocals, and Yves Rothacher on drums. During their peak between 1978 and 1983, they released several notable albums, including *Saturday Night*, *Full Speed Ahead*, and *T'as bien failli crever !*. Their music often blended elements of blues boogie with heavy metal. The band's lineup changed over time, with Bernard Antoine replacing Yves Rothacher on drums in 1978. Ganafoul disbanded in 1983 but has since reformed sporadically, including in 1998 and more recently in 2020 and 2023, with ongoing concert series and new music releases planned.

Ganafoul's discography includes a mix of studio albums and live recordings. Their recent activities include the release of *Sider-Rock* in 2020, which was originally recorded in 1975, and *Roll On* in 2023, featuring remixes and new tracks. The band continues to perform with a current lineup that includes Jack Bon, Edouard "Doudou" Gonzalez, Yves Rothacher, and Luc Blackstone. Their music has been celebrated for its energetic blend of heavy metal and blues influences, making them a notable part of France's metal scene.
