Romero Lubambo

Romero Lubambo is a masterful Brazilian guitarist widely recognized for blending the rhythms and harmonies of his native Brazil with the improvisational freedom of American jazz. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Lubambo began playing guitar at a young age and quickly developed a style that effortlessly fuses bossa nova, samba, and jazz. Since moving to the United States in the mid-1980s, he's become a highly sought-after collaborator, performing and recording with major artists like Dianne Reeves, Yo-Yo Ma, Herbie Mann, and Wynton Marsalis.

In addition to his standout work as a sideman, Lubambo has had a prolific solo career, releasing a rich catalog of albums that showcase his dynamic technique and deep musicality. Notable releases include Lembrando Garoto, Live at Dizzy's, and Christmastime in Rio. Known for his warm tone, rhythmic precision, and lyrical phrasing, Lubambo continues to be a vital force in both Brazilian and jazz music scenes worldwide.
