Trio d'Iroise

**Trio d'Iroise** is a Franco-German string trio established in the summer of 2017 by Sophie Pantzier, François Lefèvre, and Johann Caspar Wedell at the Rencontres musicales d'Iroise festival in Brittany, France. Following just a few months of rehearsals, they achieved significant recognition by winning the coveted DMW scholarship in the final of the German Music Competition in March 2018. This success also earned them admission to the National Selection of Young Artists Concerts and a special prize from the Marie-Luise Imbusch Foundation in Lübeck. Since then, Trio d'Iroise has performed extensively across Germany and internationally, including in France, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, while regularly appearing at major chamber music festivals like the Beethovenfest Bonn and Heidelberger Frühling.

Known for their creative program concepts, Trio d'Iroise not only interprets well-known works from the string trio repertoire but also uncovers and performs forgotten compositions. They have collaborated with composers and artists from diverse musical genres, such as their notable project with the Syriab Trio, where they blended Bach's Goldberg Variations with Arabic music traditions. This innovative approach to music has captured the attention of juries, audiences, and radio stations alike. Trio d'Iroise's members, Sophie Pantzier and François Lefèvre, are also associated with the NDR Radiophilharmonie, while Johann Caspar Wedell is a solo cellist for Ensemble Reflektor.
