Batuk is an electronic music duo originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, now based in Lisbon, Portugal. Made up of producer Manteiga and vocalist Spoek Mathambo (who also has a successful solo career), they blend house, gqom, and other South African genres with a global electronic sound. Their music often incorporates social commentary and explores themes of identity, technology, and spirituality, all while keeping the energy high and danceable. They've gained international recognition for their vibrant live performances and unique sonic landscapes.
Beyond their own releases, Batuk has also collaborated with a variety of artists and contributed to several compilations. They're known for pushing boundaries and experimenting with different sounds, making them a constantly evolving and exciting act to follow.
