Women was an influential Canadian indie rock band known for their lo-fi aesthetic and experimental soundscapes. The group formed in Calgary in 2007, initially comprising Patrick Flegel on guitar and vocals, his brother Matthew Flegel on bass, Christopher Reimer on guitar, and Michael Wallace on drums. Their self-titled debut album, "Women," released in 2008, captured the attention of the indie music scene with its blend of noise rock, post-punk, and dreamy melodies, establishing them as a band to watch.
Despite their rising acclaim, Women only released one more studio album, "Public Strain," in 2010, which received widespread critical praise and cemented their reputation as creators of textured, enigmatic sounds that pushed the boundaries of conventional rock music. Tragically, in 2012, guitarist Christopher Reimer passed away, and the group disbanded shortly thereafter. Posthumously, the band has remained a subject of interest for music enthusiasts, with archival releases like "Rarities 2007-2010" surfacing to offer fans a glimpse into the band's creative process and behind-the-scenes work. The EP "Everyone Is So In Love With You," even in its posthumous context, continued to showcase the band's knack for crafting dissonant yet captivating music, and it serves as a reminder of Women's unique contribution to the indie rock landscape.
