Yacouba Trio

Yacouba Trio is a vibrant group led by David "Yacouba" Jacob, known primarily as the iconic bassist for the band Trust since 1996. This ensemble blends a rich fusion of 60s jazz with ethnic influences that have shaped Jacob's musical journey. Alongside Nicolas Noel on piano and Hakim Molina on drums, Yacouba Trio delivers unique compositions that traverse the realms of world music, blues, and jazz. Their sound reflects a deep exploration of diverse styles, bringing a fresh and captivating energy to their performances and recordings such as their track "Ouida Road".

It’s worth noting that this Yacouba Trio is distinct from the Malian kora master Yacouba Sissoko’s band SIYA. While Sissoko is renowned for his mastery of the kora and dedication to West African musical traditions, Yacouba Trio helmed by David Jacob offers a different blend rooted in jazz and global music fusion.
