Sona Shaboyan

Sona Shaboyan is an accomplished Armenian pianist known for her captivating performances and dedication to promoting Armenian piano music. Born in Yerevan, Armenia, she began playing the piano at a young age and attended the Tchaikovsky Music School. Shaboyan has studied extensively in Europe, working with renowned pianists and benefiting from fellowships from several foundations. She has performed with orchestras and chamber music ensembles in various countries, including Germany, Russia, Armenia, Spain, Switzerland, and France.

Shaboyan's recorded works include a notable CD titled "Piano Music from Armenia," which features world premiere recordings of compositions by Aram Katchaturian, Robert Andreasian, Georgy Saradian, Alexander Arutiunian, Arno Babachanian, and others. Her repertoire also extends to standard works like Chopin's Etudes and Sonata No. 2. Currently residing in Switzerland, Shaboyan continues to be celebrated for her unique blend of cultural depth and technical skill.
