Denovo is an Italian new wave group formed in 1981 in Catania. They initially gained recognition in 1982 by placing second at the National Rock Festival in Bologna. Their discography includes notable albums such as *Unicanisai* (1985), *Persuasione* (1987), and their more recent release *Kamikaze Bohemien* (2014). The band's original lineup included Mario Venuti, Luca Madonia, Toni Carbone, Gabriele Madonia, and occasionally Raffaele Fazio on drums. After several years of activity and occasional reunions, the group officially reformed in 2014.
Denovo's music has been a significant part of the Italian indie scene of the 1980s, with *Persuasione* being particularly acclaimed. Despite disbanding in the 1990s, the group's legacy continues to influence the Italian music landscape. Toni Carbone, one of the original band members, passed away in 2023. Throughout their career, Denovo has maintained a loyal following and contributed to Italy's vibrant musical heritage.
