Jean-Claude Henriot is a French classical pianist born on October 21, 1948, in Paris. He entered the Conservatoire de Paris at the age of 14 and was educated under the tutelage of renowned pianists Yvonne Lefébure and Yvonne Loriod. During his studies, he met Olivier Messiaen, Yvonne Loriod's husband, which influenced his early musical career. Henriot is notably associated with chamber music, particularly as a founding member of the Quatuor Olivier Messiaen. He has collaborated extensively with the Ensemble intercontemporain and the Ensemble Aleph, contributing to various recordings, including notable works by Messiaen and Kagel. Henriot has also recorded Beethoven's piano works, such as the Diabelli Variations and Bagatelles, which have received significant critical acclaim.
