Canterbury

Canterbury was an English rock band known for their compelling blend of alternative rock and infectious melodies. Formed in 2005, the band consisted of members Mike Sparks (lead vocals, guitar), Luke Prebble (bass, vocals), James Pipe (guitar), and Chris Velissarides (drums). Their sound was characterized by an undertow of driving riffs complemented by anthemic choruses, which earned them a dedicated following within the UK's live music scene.

Over the years, Canterbury released a string of successful projects that showcased their evolution as musicians and songwriters. "Thank You," their debut album, dropped in 2009 as a free digital download, reflecting the band's desire to connect directly with fans. This was followed by the critically acclaimed "Heavy in the Day" in 2012 and "Dark Days" in 2014, the latter being hailed for its matured sound and complex arrangements. Additionally, the "Satellite EP" and the "Calm Down EP" bolstered their discography, providing fans with a more varied and expansive look into the band's capabilities. Singles like "Ready Yet?" and its Proxies Remix, as well as tracks like "Gloria" and "More Than Know," continued to solidify Canterbury's place in the British rock landscape until their unfortunate disbandment in 2014, leaving behind a legacy of passion, energy, and a catalogue of songs that resonate with authenticity and emotion.
