Growing up in Recife and later in Salvador, Bahia, Jorge developed a passion for urban music culture, which led him to collaborate closely with Chico Science. Together, they helped create Manguebeat, a genre that blends rock, hip hop, and funk, emerging as an influential musical force in the 1990s. After Chico Science's passing in 1997, Jorge took over as lead vocalist and sampler for the iconic band Nação Zumbi, continuing to shape the sound that defined a generation.
