Shigeaki Saegusa
Shigeaki Saegusa is a Japanese composer and arranger known for his work on anime soundtracks, particularly for the Gundam franchise. Born in 1942, Saegusa began his career in the 1960s, composing music for television and film. He gained recognition for his work on the original Mobile Suit Gundam series in 1979, and has since composed music for numerous Gundam spin-offs and sequels, including Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, and Char's Counterattack. Saegusa's music is characterized by its sweeping orchestral arrangements and memorable melodies, which have helped to define the sound of the Gundam franchise.
