Мельница (which translates to "Windmill" in English) is one of Russia’s most beloved and influential folk-rock bands, known for blending traditional Slavic and Celtic motifs with modern rock and lyrical fantasy storytelling. Formed in 1999 in Moscow, the band is fronted by charismatic vocalist and flutist Natalia "Hellawes" O'Shea, whose academic background in philology complements the poetic depth of the band’s lyrics. Мельница quickly carved out a niche in the Russian music scene with their debut album "Doroga Sna" (The Road of Dreams), and have since developed a loyal following thanks to their rich arrangements, mythical themes, and immersive live performances.

Over the years, Мельница has evolved their sound while staying true to their folk roots. Albums like "Алхимия" (Alchemy), "Химера" (Chimera), and "Тёмные Земли" (Dark Lands) showcase a more atmospheric and progressive style, while projects like "LIVE 25" celebrate their enduring presence on the scene. Known for captivating concerts and deep thematic albums that often touch on fantasy, history, and mythology, Мельница remains a cornerstone of Russian folk-rock music.
